The following SCM members are currently on General Council.
Abigail Hollingsworth – Trustee and Convenor
Abigail is a Mathematics PhD student at the University of Warwick. While studying for her integrated masters at the University of Southampton, from which she graduated in 2022, she was President of SCM Southampton for three years. She is now part of SCM Coventry and Warwick, which she co-led when it first launched. She grew up in the CofE, and now attends a small church attached to Coventry Cathedral (which is run in part by SCM’s CEO!) Abigail has been a member of SCM since she started at university in 2018 and it has been a big part of her faith journey ever since. When not studying abstract mathematics like geometric topology, Abigail enjoys reading, archery, and playing the piano.
Reuben Jenkins – Trustee and Deputy Convenor
Reuben is a Theology graduate, with a particular interest in queer theology and theology and the creative arts – he can often be found jumping between galleries and churches in his free time! He’s also working his way through an ever-growing queer theology reading list… His current read is Revd Troy Perry’s ‘Don’t Be Afraid Anymore.’
Sorrel Eyres – Trustee Access and Inclusion Portfolio
Sorrel is a trustee holding the Access and Inclusion Portfolio. They always want to hear from disabled members about improving accessibility in all areas of the movement – please get in touch! Their day job is in the chaplaincy at Keele University, where they facilitate the Student Chapel Fellowship, the local SCM group. When not working or making SCM accessible, they’re usually playing various musical instruments, listening to BBC Radio 3, or watching dinnerladies.
Anna Henderson – Trustee and Comms and Marketing Portfolio
Anna is a Trustee, and holder of the Communications and Marketing portfolio. She is currently serving as the Anglo-Catholic Mission Assistant for the Diocese of Birmingham. In her work she helps Anglo-Catholic churches build community and gain new disciples, and outside of work she enjoys competitive debating, and tackling the mountain of unread books in her room. Her favourite theological topics are ‘what happened on Holy Saturday?’ and perspectives on Holy Communion.
Lux Williams – Trustee and LGBTQ+ Rep
Lux has been studying engineering since 2020, originally starting with spacecraft engineering in Southampton and now studying engineering management at the Open University. They first got involved with SCM in Southampton, and served as treasurer for a year, where their theology really grew and started their love of trans theology. In their (limited) free time, they enjoy relaxing with a good book, playing the piano and the occasional video game.
Melody Lewis – Movement Magazine Co-Editor Portfolio
Originally from North Wales, Melody has just come back from her year abroad in Argentina and will be heading into her final year studying for a degree in Modern and Medieval Languages at the University of Cambridge. Her current research interests are gender in climate literature and women’s polar exploration narratives. Brought up in the Anglican Church by a Methodist family, Melody now attends the Cambridge Unitarian Church, and enjoys the laid-back, welcoming atmosphere, paired with copious amounts of tea during coffee time afterwards. In her free time Melody enjoys crafting (to varying degrees of success), listening to fashion history podcasts, and train travel.
Josh Tinker-Reid – Trustee and Movement Magazine Co-Editor Portfolio
Josh (he/they) is Co-Editor of Movement Magazine alongside Melody, and is responsible for ensuring that the magazine goes out twice a year. Josh’s background is in theology, having recently completed a BTh at Oxford Uni. They’re particularly passionate about trans* Liberation Theology and intersex Christology. He was a founding member of the Trans* Theology Group, back in the days when Naomi Orrell was the Faith in Action Worker. In their spare time they love playing boardgames and reading Rev Richard Coles’ Canon Clement murder mystery series.
Jacob Owens – LGBTQ+ Rep
